U HAV POWR recognizes that we operate on STOLEN Algonquin Anishinabaae Territory within Turtle Island (also known as North America).
For centuries, Indigenous communities within Turtle Island and across the globe have been subjected to cruel violence that has caused long-lasting and generational suffering. To this day, Indigenous communities across Algonquin Anishinabaae territory do not have access to clean drinking water. This means, Indigenous peoples are disproportionately exposed to water-borne diseases than the settler population (us, and that is unacceptable).
This is one of many examples of what happens when treaty agreements established between Indigenous Nations and settlers continue to be broken, and it is simply unfair and disgraceful. The Canadian government continue to break treaties, and exploit Indigenous tribes and land.
We the people, must vocalize this truth and REJECT compliance to colonialism of all forms, silent or loud.
U HAV POWR commits to the land back movement by identifying ongoing colonial realities for Indigenous communities, informing non-Indigenous allies through decolonial discourse and critiquing Western normalcies. Through an intersectional and Islamic solution-based framework, we focus on solidarity to cultivate power.
